Central Manchester Foundation Trust (CMFT) is located on two sites – Manchester Royal Infirmary and Trafford General Hospital. There is a shuttle bus running between the two sites every thirty minutes from 10am to 3pm.
Manchester Royal Infirmary is located on Oxford Road in Manchester. This is a Teaching Hospital associated with Manchester Medical School and the University of Manchester, training Manchester’s future doctors, nurses and medical scientists. We perform surgery here on patients who have complex injuries when they have have other associated injuries that might require the care of other surgical specialities.
Twenty different routes from across Manchester all stop directly here, including our own hybrid bus (the 147) which costs £1.50 for a day ticket and travels from Manchester Piccadilly Train Station via the Universities, stopping on site. Trafford General Hospital is located on Moorside Road near Urmston. This has a new dedicated Orthopaedic Theatre Complex. We perform surgery here on patients who have only one limb injured, whether they are referred from another hospital in the North West, or if they were brought to Manchester Royal Infirmary initially.
